Commercial clam farming was introduced into Cedar Key approximately 11 years ago. Since that time, Cedar Key has become the nation's largest producer of farm-raised clams.

This intriguing event will highlight the stages involved in the process of farm raising hardshell clams from their microscopic birth to their eventual harvest from the Gulf of Mexico.

Bill Leeming of Southern Cross Sea Farms will host this event, which will include a tour of the facility.
