Shorebirding by Land in the
Coastal Marshes

When tides are low, much of the coastal marsh area is exposed mudflats, oyster beds and shell middens. During this time hundreds of feeding birds can be observed from various vantage points along roadways, docks, and walkways. Expect to see avocets, dunlins, willets, oyster catchers, black skimmers, curlews, roseate spoonbills, marbled godwits and wood storks, just to name a few.
